Does anyone have some advice on how to control emotions during irl conversations? I grew up in an abusive household with a narcissistic parent and I got very very used to holding in my emotions and not communicationg at all, because if emotions, especially anger, were commuicated or shown, I would get yelled at and scolded for how I felt. This resulted in a lot of pent up anger and sadness, and this has evolved to having small anger outbursts because I don't know how to properly communicate when feeling really strong emotions and then afterwords I feel extremely embarrassed.

I struggle with anxiety and anger issues. I especially struggle with anxiety in relationships. Journaling has helped a lot. It has helped me realize what I really need to communicate and what is just in my head. It has eased my anxious attachment issues as well as made my communication more clear and effective. Not everything you feel you need to say is necessary, but it is important to get it out of your head. Writing it all down can help.

I recommend to leave the conversation and breath. For me it usually works.
