I have IBS so I follow the Low FODMAP diet. It has been very helpful and I even lost some weight!
408d
Cutting most red meats and pork out of my diet helped my IBS bloating a bit. Not by a lot but you can't win everything I suppose š¤·āāļø
422d
High protein(I had weightloss surgery back in 2021) little to no dairy ( lactose intolerant)
423d
Anti-inflammatory diet -- no gluten or red meat, very little dairy, nothing fried or barbecued.
424d
Gluten and dairy free (along with nut, Peanuts, coconut and citrus free due to anaphylaxis)
Dairy and Gluten free

As much as I know being vegan or vegetarian would be good for the environment and all but I just can't give up meats they taste to good. They give me joy and if I cut them out I'd only mainly eat rice and that's just a little to restrictive I think...
432d
I try to eat cruelty free
433d
I have an eating disorder, which I'm getting help for, I just try to balance out the food groups, also the keto diet is dangerous, it can damage your liver and kidneys later on, any medical professional will tell you that, that's why they advise against it,

Lean protein like chicken and fish, vegetables, fruit, water, smoothies, Gatorade, and juice. I don't drink pop very often every once in a while. I loveee sweets though lol. I just try not to overindulge hehe. I prefer homemade meals instead of eating out all the time. But I eat out every once in a while. Currently addicted to the Chicken Caesar Salad from Noodles and Company. It's just so good lol if you love salad it's definitely a must try. āŗļø

I'm working on remembering to eat. I used to be really mindful about what I ate but my stress got so bad and exacerbated by my adhd that I just forget to eat. It's gotten a lot better, but I'm still not eating enough for how active I am. I went from 400-600/2100 calories for several consecutive months and now I'm at 1700/2100 and I'm really proud of that.
I am doing Noom and itās working
If I remember to eat, I try to be mindful of what I eat. Though it doesn't always work out that way, sadly.
435d
Liquid only diet
450d
I have a binge disorder and Autism, so that kinda makes its own twisted diet of bad and good
Gluten free ( coeliac disease ) , high salt to help with chronic low blood pressure. Main thing for me is drink a lot of fluids. Looking at diet options to help with constipation right now
@PrincessCheese anything with plenty of fibre will help with constipation, also unless lactose intolerant diary products like yoghurts and puddings can also help, diuretics like tea an coffee, try to avoid eggs, they can cause binding
Just curious if anyone with diabetes type 2 has tried intermittent fasting and if helped?
@ScottishSea I wouldn't advice fasting with diabetes try to stick to a GI index, skipping meals or starving yourself can lower your glucose to much, you could end up having a lot of hypo issues, causing your type 2 to become type 1
@Chester That's what happened to my brother in law, he's now insulin dependent

I avoid potassium and phosphorus, reducing my meat-based proteins and sodium.

I'm vegan, gluten free, sugar free (but I do have some fruit with just no processed sugar) and I try to follow a low glycemic and whole foods diet. But sometimes I do eat occasional snacks that I love because it's hard to stay away from all packaged foods for a long time. I quit Soda back in 2017 and I don't have any fried foods. I try to stay away from oil but I'll have healthy oils in snacks sometimes but not everyday. I also follow an anti-inflammatory diet because I have eczema and hormonal imbalances so I have to eat foods that'll help support that. For instance i have to cut off tomatoes and apples because they flare up my eczema. I also try to do low-moderate-carb but that's not my worries right now.
457d
I tend to stick a gluten free diet but I find it hard as I havenāt been able to find a bread substitute that I like š
@zozo131 oh I'm gluten free and I'm not really a bread person but they have great alternatives at healthy stores. I even love making my own from Simple Mills they have an artisan bread mix that's super easy to make and it's so good for pizza and stuff! You can message me for more info cause I've been GF since 2019.

Red flag for āclean eatingā I feel like thatās bordering on some diet culture bs
I just like eating š
entral feeding! I have a J tube
464d
I wouldn't say I'm keto, but more consciously low carb. I also eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and try to prepare my food in healthy ways such as air frying or grilling. I also drink a lot of water
465d
Not giving into the diet industry's ploys, a blunt and a nice, rich, hearty meal is all I need to be happy /lh /nm

@HimboCollective exactly, people don't get it's all money making gimics, as long as you stick to the food groups and balance it, don't go over your calorie intake, then you can pretty much eat whatever you want. I have. HND in sports and exercise science, which includes diet and nutrition, so I'm qualified to give advice, these companies pray on people's insecurities to make money, these diets cause all sorts of health issues, the keto is the most dangerous, causes liver and kidney damage. People have actually died from doing keto
Smoking diet

Anything that I can eat and won't throw up I'll eat. My body is so picky every time it comes down to eat something. One minute I can eat cearal and I'll have 3 bowls. But if I just sit and wait for just a moment I could absolutely hate the idea of milk touching solids and only want pizza. So whatever I can keep down is what I eat.
Gluten free as I have Celiac Disease.
469d
I made the choice when I was 12 to be a vegetarian. I feel like it has helped me as my health has declined. Six years ago my friend tried the muscle weakness test on me, and we adjusted my diet accordingly. Now I'm gluten free and I avoid nightshades. It's not an easy diet. And there are days when I don't want to eat. But it has helped my fibromyalgia and my IBS.
@Red914 yet I tried all these diets, gluten free, I even tried vegan, made no difference to my pain whatsoever, diet doesn't work for everyone, everyone's balance and metabolism is different,, what works for you may not work for others
As someone with an eating disorder, this definitely isn't something that should be on my page š§
@Gingeralamode yeah I'm in Ed recovery right now and it can be a trigger. For me though even in Ed recovery I am vegan and gluten free still so I added that under the comments here. But yeah this shouldn't be for people with EDS.
@Ashcookie me to, I'm in treatment for it right now, just working out my triggers, they started a help in the community, I meat a hcsw every week at his chosen destination, I have to order a drink and food and eat it in public. I'm having my 3rd meating this week, I've gone from eating nothing to eating a fairy cake in a cafe, I'm so proud of myself, I even kept it down, this week is going to be a struggle as every week the snack gets bigger, this week is a Panini, I'm absolutely terrified but also determined, I urge anyone going through eds to try this, I've come so far, although my psychologist believes I only need 4 more sessions, so she's spread them out to every 2 weeks, I know I have to go it alone at some point, but I'm scared that if I stop seeing them Im going to revert back, even though I still get support, I'm still scared
@Gingeralamode amen
I eat junk food mostly not by choice but I try to be mindful anyway. I drink water everyday, no sodas/fizzy drinks but if I do occasionally drink one it will be a light one like sprite or a sparkling water. I do intermittent fasting too but it can trigger my ED so it's hard not to binge afterwards.

My answer was āfind my answer in the comments.ā Im low on finances and my health isnāt the best. I was just in the hospital shortly last year and it was a diabetic health scare. And my mental health was deteriorating. Honestly, I wasnāt taking my medications so I guess thatās my fault. So Iāve been trying to study health and how to eat better. Iāve been studying brain foods, super foods, how to read labels, processed foods, etc. And Iāve been trying to find ways to save money and what different apps and resources there are. Im still experimenting and havenāt quite found the answers yet but Iām getting there. I suffer from adhd so itās extra difficult for me to find motivation for stuff such as hygiene and healthy eating and exercise and weight loss. So luckily Iāve been off the caffeine and sodas for awhile and Iāve been drinking water and Iām finally starting to notice changes and improvements. And Iāve started taking my meds again but have yet to find a therapist who specializes in my subtype of ocd or a proper psychiatrist. Iāve heard bad things about diets and Iāve tried and failed the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and learned that eating meat isnāt so bad as long as youāre living off the land and killing them with respect and theyāre lean and good types of meats and stuff. It depends I guess. I try to go easy on myself but push myself at my own pace. I donāt try to lose weight or look nice or like a model or anything for personal reasons but I do try to be healthy for mental agility and emotional and spiritual wellbeing since Iām extra vulnerable bc Iām prone to mental health crisis. I mean, I might try exercise later on down the road but Iām not in a rush again for personal reasons. So basically I havenāt found my ādietā or āhealthy life styleā yet but Iām sure I will eventually at my own pace.
@TheUglyDuckling as long as you stick to the food groups and keep to your calorie intake, you can pretty much eat whatever, there is no need for these fancy diets, I have a HND in sports and exercise science which includes diet and nutrition so I'm qualified to give advice
I eat when im hungry so very rarely. I only eat what i fancy which could be anything from meat to just a milkshake. My eating has been an issue for years
Non of the above, I am incredibly picky because of me being autistic
Kosher and acd!
No dairy, allergic to all milk products.
I do low dairy and less greasy foods. I might also eat less gluten.
471d
I mostly eat my safe foods wich are chocolate pop tarts Yorkshire puddings and plain pasta I do sometimes try other food, but it has to be at my pace
Dairy free, gluten free, and sugar free. The closer I stick to this the better for me. Although with the gluten and sugar, I can "cheat" with a small treat now and then without a full on flare. Especially on days that I feel pretty good or need the extra calories because I exercised.
I have fructose malabsorption, meaning my body doesn't digest fructose fast. So I try to be careful with my sugar intake, consuming as little as possible
474d
I'm careful with diets bc of my past with anorexia, but mindful eating+ the Mediterranean diet makes me feel really good, I can notice the difference in my mood and energy when I'm eating this way
Lots of veggies and protein, but sparingly have desserts. Or make the weight loss friendly kind. I use plain fat free Greek yogurt and a sugar free fat free instant jello pudding powder and make a mousse/dip type of dessert. Very tasty and filling.
Iām vegetarian because the texture of meat has always been gross to me.
@ControlRoomSys I was also never one for fish either. I'd always get vegetarian sushi lol
@ControlRoomSys Same I never liked meat ever so that's why I went vegan and I also hated eggs and I'm allergic to milk!
Gluten free, mostly homemade at the moment and considering the Mediterranean diet too
Imagine almost promoting Keto while supporting eating disorders??? Wow.
Slimming world. I tried keto and found I could loose the same while eating spuds!!
I have bounced about as needed. I did keto for weight loss it was amazing, but have to move to no carb no sugar less protein while pregnant, moved to vegan after birth since my baby is allergic to milk protein. It's been a roller-coaster of diets
@Deathfuffy please don't go back to keto. It's dangerous, it can cause liver and kidney damage later on, there's a reason you can't have that diet during pregnancy, any diet that can damage a feotus should be a red flag for anyone, people have died from using keto diet, it may not show now, but give it 10 years and then you will know about it, I'm not saying don't diet just not keto
507d
I'm also allergic to tomatoes
@colourfulburrito it triggers my eczema too
I try to restrict as I have an eating disorder but things get bad and I binge and make myself sick so I can never really stick to a diet.
@colourfulburrito I've been there and honestly it was an awful time for me. My health was like failing. I'm now in Ed recovery and I hope and pray that you someday can have peace with food and have a diet you'll stick to that'll help you smile and be happy with yourself. It's hard for me now but I don't have as much stress back then which I'm thankful about.
508d
I donāt really follow any certain diet. I just do everything in moderation.
Slightly high sodium and very bland foods. Basically a bagel in the morning, 2 pb&js for lunch, and dinner is whatever I am given.
I'm a pollotarian! I only eat chicken meat in an attempt to cut red meats out of my diet. Also, just to help the environment a little bit.
509d
I was vegan for 2 years and vegetarian for 4 years. I also tried a juice cleanse, and raw veganism. I am now a pescatarian and eat fish since I am following the anti-inflamatory diet which was recommended by my doctor :)
Vegan, but for ethical reasons rather than health. I try to base my diet mostly around wholefoods though for health.
Peskitarian. Just fish and chicken and sometimes vegetarian.
510d
Kosher
i eat all food except seafood because ew and also i dont eat mushrooms and some other vegetables either
511d
Carnivore diet
Low fat, low fiber for my gastroparesis. No gluten or dairy.
IF, generally plant based, usually low-glycemic index. mostly just a preference!
I exercise daily and learned to listen to what my body needs. Since then, I love what I eat and rarely eat the crap I used to.
I mean vegetarian is a thing....
512d
Mediterranean diet is super anti inflammatory! Has helped me
I'm vegan!š±
Metabolism confusion . Healthy eating. I go from high calorie to lower calories Every other day to every couple days.
No diet
516d
Vegetarian š
I have a really shitty diet, because I skip meals all the time and don't eat enough.
My diet is a mess and kind of a mix of everything, but I do eat less meat that average
I do a Low fodmap diet. At least I try to do that.
I do a modified paleo. I don't avoid any veggies or fruits but I do try to stay away from empty carbs.
im a vegetarian
I've been doing keto but it's gonna be difficult through the holidays
520d
I lost 20lbs fairly quickly & w/o realizing last year while planning my wedding. I found out this year that it was due to 2 of my medications having uses for weight loss (didn't know this previously). So basically my mind was telling me I wasn't hungry & I was skipping lots of meals. Now that I'm aware, and I'm no longer distracted/stressed out with wedding planning, I make sure to eat my 3 meals each day. I'm happy to say I've already gained half of the weight back (: which puts me at a healthy weight for my age & height!
521d
I be eating so much ramen and eggs.... but I do eat healthy when I can. I'm just a broke college student
522d
GF, fodmap, no dairy, no sugar low salt
We eat vegetarian! We used to have to be low FODMAP due to gastroparesis but it's cleared up in recent years so I've been able to add more food back into my diet.
I don't have a particular diet. I try to get the proper nutrients in my body and and not eat only junk. I do try to eat a decent amount of protein because it's best for my low blood sugar. I also eat a lot of carbs for the same reason and because a lot of food I like has a lot of it. But I don't really restrict myself at all.
š¤moving to ketogenic diet gradually. I have Angela Stanton's book about migraines but I find a lot of it is too complicated for me. Extra salt and water and milk makes sense but not at night. I was going to the bathroom every hour to urinate.
I just like food trying to be mindful of my slightly high cholesterol š
I eat a lot then I gain weight and I starve myself
As someone who struggled with a ED i just eat whatever/ whenever and I just try and eat more than normal
I don't diet, it's not good for me to label foods good or bad
Iām doing the clean eating diet right now. My intestines are very inflamed so anything but clean foods sends me into a deep pain. I also make sure my sodium and water intake are increased for the POTS.
I'm trying to follow an anti-inflammatory diet for Fibro, PANDAS, and psoriasis but also a high sodium diet because of my POTS.
I have an intollerance to dairy and almonds, I try to eat small portions and have light snacks here and there.
I have a LOT of food allergies, so my diet is very restricted. I make sure to rotate between safe foods to get enough protein, vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, etc. and supplement with a lot of doctor approved vitamins. It's very expensive and involves a lot of cooking, but I wouldn't be alive otherwise!
641d
I'm on a restricted diet because of my PANS. It's just things my OCD allows me to eat, otherwise I will panic.
642d
Gluten Free because I have celiac disease
where my vegans atš±š±
Donāt follow a specific diet plan but Iām trying to slowly replace meat in my diet with more vegetarian and vegan options. Also trying to reduce how much sugar I eat daily and less snacks as well. Trying to just focus on eating healthier all around but not depriving myself of anything either.
i have celiac so i keep a 100% gluten free diet, and i'm mostly dairy free as well and i have a couple of allergies but other than that i'm not too picky lol
I'm gonna call this one the closet diet where I look around and feel I cant find anything to eat because I dont have enough energy to use the stovetop or it just doesn't sound good to me/not craving it yet
643d
I try to only eat what doesn't make me sick(which is a much smaller list than I would like). No egg, gluten, dairy, sucralose, apples, whole nuts, pickles, or certain really spicy peppers. Im not very good at sticking with this, and some things I am able to "cheat" a little, but generally if I cheat I hurt or am incredibly nauseous later.
I refuse to diet
I only eat when hungry which isn't very often and rarely eat meals. Only snacks as I see fit
I physically can't eat a lot in one sitting so I basically just eat small amounts in the evening, usually I am not hungry until 4 in the afternoon. So...I basically only eat to take my meds
681d
Frozen corn dogs and lots of candy bars
694d
I saw a dietician and the only things I donāt eat are things Iām allergic to, things I donāt like, and things that will harm my body. Otherwise, I eat anything in amounts that my body wants
None
695d
i feel like 16/8 intermittent fasting has given me a healthier relationship with food, and kinda helped with my ADHD. i don't eat til later in the day, so having mornings where i'm not sluggish from food but not hungry really help me with executive function.
Anything I can manage to eat with an eating disorder ARFID :\
Anti-inflammatory + low fiber
I'm allergic to everything under the sun so I eat the foods that hurt the least. these are obviously not consistent, because why would food be easy
I have a lot of allergies and intolerances, I'll eat anything that doesn't hurt me or make me sick
792d
Iām trying to avoid refined carbs, dairy, and sugar for my skin and hopefully some weight loss
Currently struggling with loss of appetite. Funny enough, it started when I quit alcohol 18 months ago. But itās been much worse the last 6 months. Iām trying to gain some back, so Iām trying to eat whatever looks good, even if I donāt feel hungry.
Gluten/Dairy free and no junk foods
793d
AIP
I try to stick to a whole foods, plant based diet but I will occasionally have other stuff. I have a history with disordered eating so I'm not strict about it. Oh, I only completely avoid dairy. That one my body really hates so I don't bother with it.
I have some trigger foods because of crohnās that often cause symptoms (fried food, things with lots of food dye, high-fat cheeses, stuff like that) I eat a lot of lean meats, low-fat dairy products, and white bread and bagels
Iām on a modified low FODMAP diet because I canāt digest certain foods.
As someone who has HS, Iāve found the Mediterranean diet helps keep flare ups at bay, not forever but it does help my body chill
im definitely trying to be more of a mindful eater. slowly leaning towards of becoming a vegetarian but its kinda hard with my fam and how/what they cook. so i try my best to stay away from pork and beef
I'm allergic to so many foods. There is at least 33 that I know for sure... it's so hard to eat anything
Shelter diet
Renal Diet
897d
Due to having stomach problems since 2016 and having blood tested for celiac disease, which I only recently found out the test was negative. (No other tests being run since). And since April of 2021 Iāve had terrible episodes of, whatever the heck it is thatās going on, on and off. Though I also have regular daily symptoms. Iām not going to get into any of it here, but Iāve been on a Low FODMAP diet, low fat, gluten free (I can eat small portions of gluten with minimal to no symptoms), lactose free, egg free, limiting soy productsā¦ Basically, Iām struggling to find foods that I can eat freely without symptoms flaring up and causing suffering šš¤¦
@Aeiou back in January, my dietitian said try the low fodmap diet which didn't really work for me as I literally never eat any of those things anyway. She told me she'd call me back in 6 weeks. It's been 11 months.
409d
@colourfulburrito I am so sorry to hear that and I hope youāve been able to see someone else! I have since worked with a gut health coach online and I did Autoimmune Paleo diet. It worked wonders and Iām able to get more nutrients in my diet (with the occasional symptoms, but itās much less than to begin with). If you havenāt heard of it already, itās essentially another type of elimination diet, but it focuses on reducing inflammation and promoting healing.
904d
Whole food plant based.
919d
I have trained my body to eat in the afternoon/night time and don't normally eat breakfast or lunch I usually have a big meal at night a few hours before bed normally I have found that with some light snacks if I am hungry and really good hydration does the trick. I usually spend less on food than I would on a 3 meal diet and I have maintained a proper weight and health with my diet it might not be for everyone but I usually work all day like 12-16 hour days Usually just some granola bars and small smacks help me alot just a lot of water and electrolytes such as propel does a wonder for me and then eating whatever I want at dinner time! It's honestly the best for me personally with my work and lifestyle meshing the way it does and it might not be perfect sometimes I do get hungry in the middle of the day and eat if I feel the need to and other days I'm just not hungry till dinner time Just my 2 cents maybe it would work for some but not all I can basically eat literally whatever I want and not gain weight but maybe it's just my metabolism I've always been like this even when eating 2-3 meals a day when I was younger as a child and teen
To be honest, I just eat a small set of things over and over again and I rarely travel outside of it. š
921d
I eat everything, I try to buy low fat food but honestly most of the time I eat out or make something easy like pasta.
I have gastroparesis which really affects my appetite and what I'm able to eat. I watch my carbs because I'm also T1D but I eat what I can when I can. Sometimes my appetite is just nonexistent and I have to remind myself to eat. When my stomach is hurting really badly or I have a lot of nausea I rely on protein and nutritional shakes.
922d
Mostly plant based
I follow a 45 carb diet. Its a different diet for sure. But its a diet that my diabetes nutritionist told me I should follow
Vegetarian š±
A low carb
923d
Mainly a blan diet due to my IBS, but I also have an extreme sweet tooth due to my medications
@BreBee Do you like chocolate? I hear that dark chocolate is good for IBS since I suffer from it but make sure not to get ones with sugar preservatives because I accidently got a sugar free chocolate bar with Inulin that literally triggered my IBS and made my stomach hurt so bad š
Thereās no vegetarian option! I try to be as vegan as possible, but my executive dysfunction gets to where I canāt make myself food and itās hard to eat a balanced vegan diet if youāre only eating out/microwave meals!
924d
I avoid trigger foods personal to me (gluten, dairy, perservatives, sunflower oil, apples, and high sugars).
4
@Biscuit Same I'm personally allergic to apples so I can't eat them otherwise I get eczema on my cheek š„
925d
Full Ketoā¦ dropped my triglycerides below 80, raised HDL, above 60 and my LDL is mainly large particle, low number. Triglycerides/HDL is a huge risk factor for determining CADā¦ less than 2.0 is ideal. If you do t know about particle size in cholesterol you need to research. Far more important than the number. 75% of heart attack victims DONT have high cholesterolā¦itās the ratio of T/H that matters and particle size of LDL.
Mainly for me, and anti inflammatory diet. Meaning no Gluten. And going to Try cutting dairy soon as well.
I don't have the energy to make healthy meals.
"Anti-Inflammatory" is my thing right now.
926d
Gluten free Only made from scratch foods, no package foods
943d
I had a gastric bypass surgery on 11/30/2004. So, I follow a 17 year ( now) post op diet .... ( which " boils down" to 1) protein 1st ... lots of water.. no snacking... Daily exercise) ...... SPECIAL TO ME **** LOW/ NO SODIUM ( My hands / feet swell to the point of PAIN š. NO SUGAR / USE "SUBSTITUTES " ( I have a former history of "diabetes " ( that surgery CURED) . And part of the " built in" beauty of the bypass is when you eat real sugar , it literally makes you sick...teaching you NOT TO EAT THAT ..... "NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT " ...
Vegetarian and gluten free
945d
I was definitely a "seefood" kind of eater. But in the last year I've tried to eat less carbs and sugar due to my diabetes.
I try to eat clean! Which means more whole foods and limit highly processed snack foods, sweets and other packaged foods. But I let myself eat my favorite food like ice cream š
Low sodium and sugar
947d
I try the Mediterranean diet in an attempt to low my cholesterol levels.
I always eat but no fat diet
958d
Anti-inflammatory diet
Gluten free due to celiac disease, but I LOVE the Mediterranean diet.
6
No diet as I never eat food
5
@IAmTired247 same I make smoothies
Vegetarian!
7
@PainfullyAlix heyyy mostly vegetarian here!
The goal is to transition to the keto diet and test it for a couple of months to see what effect it has on my POTS, but I also have ARFID and so anything food-related is tricky for me.
Gastric Bypass/ 17 yrs now. Low fat & low sugar , low volume, high protein, lots of watet
