I've always wondered since Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease why is it never treated with autoimmune drugs?

it just seems to me that it should be treated the same since our white blood cells are attacking the thyroid. Synthetic hormone replacement doesn't stop that from happening. All it really does is make your blood tests come back normal and leaving you feel as far from normal as they tell you that you should feel.

We need better treatments for sure. The medicine replaces the hormone we need but it doesnt fix the problem.
