Please read this if you can. I really need some help with something, I'm at a loss and have no idea what's happening to me and I want to know if anyone has experienced anything similar and maybe could give me some advice. So, pretty much as soon as 2023 started I've had an array of new symptoms that I've never experienced before. The one that's puzzling me the most is my appetite. I'll feel like I'm starving, but I can only get less than half of my plate down before I suddenly just don't want it anymore. Even if I still feel hungry or it's a food I normally love. Then yesterday and even today I've felt nauseous. Yesterday was the worst day and I ended up having to sleep it off. Any time I get excited or elevated my chest suddenly tightens like I'm anxious and my nausea comes back. My stomach has been bubbling too, and not because I'm hungry. I've also been having a lot of issues with time and dissociation/derealization. It feels like it's only been 3 days since New Year's Eve but it's already the 9th, which means I've somehow lost six whole days. I've had an almost constant migraine or a pressure inside my head. Sometimes my body feels numb and tingly. It would be easier to just say it's depression and move on, but I know it's not. I've felt some DEEP depression before and it has never done this to me. I haven't gone to my doctor because I know he'll just say it's depression. I can't even take antidepressants. I don't like the ER nearby either because I had to go there in early October and they didn't seem very interested in me at all. If I spoke more than a couple of words they stopped listening and spoke over me. I just don't know what to do and I don't know what's happening to me. If anyone has experienced the same thing or knows what might be going on it would be a HUGE help. I love this community 💜

@royalty living in poverty is a huge stressor! Even if your sickness might not feel like stress, issues with eating and hunger can absolutely be caused by stress. I'd carefully write down what's going on, and why it feels different than depression, and talk to your doctor about it if you have the money to

I cant say I have any answers, but I do understand what you're saying. I've been experiencing a lot of these symptoms for months now, and still not sure what it is other than all of my illnesses combined to mess with me. I hope we all find out what the heck is going on 🥺

@Kiwis I hope you find answers or at least some relief soon 💜 this friggin sucks to deal with lol. But I took a bath earlier and that seemed to help quite a bit.
@royalty thank you, same to you! 🧡 it really does, but im glad a bath helped a lot! they can really be so soothing ☺️
I often find holidays or dates that mean something to me affect my disassociation lots for example Christmas and new years is the worst, 2022 was the first xmas in three years that I haven't ended up in hospital for a week. Or at all. Although I have been disassociating still. Also with my disassociation I find that as I'm not "in" my body I don't "feel" the bodys needs so if I'm hungry I have no clue but then I'm suddenly so hungry im dry heaving. I try to snack as much as possible, easy food like chocolate, chrisps, yogurt and things that make me happy and don't feel like eating. It decreases the sudden BOOMB YOUR GONNA THROW UP AND NOT EAT COZ YOUR HUNGRY. idk, this is my experience idk if this helps. DM me if you wanna talk at all
You need to see a doctor

The more physical symptoms honestly sound like GERD or a similar disorder. I have it and often have the exact same symptoms. As for the losing 6 days I would say that's fairly common between Christmas and part of January as we get back into the routine of things but I would also say to monitor it to see if it continues or gets worse. If you're up for trying it magnesium supplements have really helped my sister with her migraines (a neurologist told her to try it). She takes one every morning.
I dont want to scare you but you should get an MRI, go to ER and tell them youre having the worst headache of your life and act it, wear sunglasses and your hood up and talk really quietly and scrunch your face like you're in pain
I've experienced all of these things, and at the same time. But dissociation and detachment has been with me since middle school and I'm only recently working to get rid of it. The eating thing, I know exactly that, but all of it was due to side effects of my medications. These were unrelated to each other, I'm not saying yours is, but do you have any medication that could cause the eating problems?
@strugglebus Sadly no, I'm not currently taking any medication. I've even stopped taking my supplements just bc I keep forgetting 😅
@royalty you'll have that. :/ Sorry I can't help much. The only thing I can think of, as far as the eating goes, because your body and stomach isn't used to eating large amounts it physically cannot eat more than it "wants" or is used to. So yeah, even if you are eating your favorite food, it will be difficult to eat more than you want to. I recommend snacking throughout the day instead of forcing yourself to eat regular 3 meals. Like don't wake up and force breakfast, eat a granola bar or however much, and continually snack as you get hungry, but do try to eat lunch and/or dinner, but again, don't force yourself to eat big/full/"regular" servings. Eat what you can. Your stomach is a muscle, and it will eventually get bigger to where you'll be able to eat more
I've experienced something similar, where I was so stressed out and my anxiety had gotten so severe that I was in a constant state of panic and nausea, something similar could be happening to you. Do you have anything that you maybe have been stressing over? Work? School? Family? Friends? If so, I suggest to try taking a break from everything. Give yourself some "me time" to try and relax
@Astryd_Dahl That could be. I've been living in poverty for several months but I'm not sure. This doesn't feel like stress. I'll definitely take your advice though and see if it does anything!
I've been kinda experiencing the same thing, but I'm not sure what it is specifically either.
@deathlost I hope you find some answers soon! 🫶
