Gabapentin and Mood Changes: Anyone Else?

does gabapentin cause mood changes for anyone else? it helps boost my mood and energy levels and break through chronic fatigue, helps me socialize and causes almost hypomanic like behavior at times (lower than hypomanic and manageable but unusual for me overall) it's been a consistent side effect and it greatly helps but I've never met anyone who reacted the same way.

      I've heard gabapentin can trigger mania or hypomania in some people, my old roommate and ex partner both experienced this. I haven't noticed mood changes personally. I'm on 400mg at night. Mostly a subtle baseline reduction in my pain. When I tried a dose in the morning, it did affect my mood because I was greatly frustrated with the increased brain fog and derealization.

        @sapphicsalchows Adding the info that my old roommate took gabapentin mainly to prevent panic attacks as well.

      it definitely helped improve my mood, but that may be related to how much it also improved my baseline pain level šŸ˜…

      I took 2, 600mg Gralise Star for 5 years..I have major gaps in my memory like just blank spots. It's so frustrating.

      Its a pain reliver and also my grama used it for neuropathy i use it for my chronic pain and anxiety.

      Yes! It personally makes me drowsy but it helps my depression symptoms and prevents panic attacks. I take 100mg 3x daily
