So I've been trying to figure out why I'm depressed... why I only feel suicidal at night... turns out it's not just at night I finally in 2 weeks got to take a shower without being interrupted by kids and I couldn't stop thinking about hurting myself... has anyone else gone though this?

It's not uncommon for people to experience increased suicidal/self-harming thoughts at night. It makes sense (to an extent) because there are not as many people, distractions, tasks, etc. and so our minds are more open to go where they will. Unfortunately with depression that is a dark place. If you aren't already seeing one, I'd recommend talking to a therapist so they can help you find ways to manage these thoughts and feelings. Also, sometimes there isn't a "reason" for depression. It isn't always triggered by events, situations, or losses. Sometimes it is just the imbalance of chemicals in your brain and genetics that lead to depressive thoughts and feelings. And sometimes it's both situational and genetic. Hopefully that helps because sometimes people struggle when they don't know the cause or feel guilty for depressive feelings when there isn't an identifiable cause. Best of luck!

I understand how you're feeling it's hard to stop or even slow down having negative thoughts all you can do is just help yourself more than you do other

I am the same way..being alone is bad for me. All the distractions are gone and I just crash. I don't quite understand it myself.

I go through this daily. I just tell myself over and over that my kids need me. And I take as much "me time" as possible (which isn't that much) but I know my kids need me so that gets me through.
