sorry in advance if it seems insensitive to post under FM without a diagnosis- i've been in increasing pain for rhe last few years, but it's gotten so, so much worse over the last few months. after a ton of negative or perfectly fine looking tests, i feel hopeless. i finally got a suggestion to speak to a GI doctor, was led to believe i had crohn's, but i had a colonoscopy earlier. while they haven't given me the completed results, the doctor said that everything appeared fine. i'm so stressed out, a couple days ago i googled skeletal-muscular disorders and realized that an overwhelming amount of my symptoms allign with FM. while i plan on bringing this up with my doctor in the future, i was wondering if anyone else had believed that what they had was crohn's?? or if that was just a blip that happened to me.

Since fibromyalgia has to do with the nerves and autonomic nervous system, it can cause gi symptoms! I want to assure you that it's not in your head. I went through a rough process of trying to get a diagnosis because of all the negative test results. Fibromyalgia research is very new and there isnt a clear test they can do, so its based mostly off your symptoms. I went to a rheumatologist!

I had all the symptoms also. I also got an endoscopy and colonoscopy. And I got the same results as you. They told me everything was fine, all my labs were normal and they even diagnosed me with psychosomatic disorder. A friend who had just been diagnosed with lupus recommended a rheumatologist. Within 15 minutes he knew I had fibro and it gets better. So I EXTREMELY recommend seeing a rheumatologist.

I had stomach issues way before symptoms of pain/FM, so that makes sense! I would also maybe look into CFS/ME because that has a lot of similarities to FM. All the best ❤️

There's a very strong link between fibromyalgia and IBS. Could be related to your situation?
