I have terrible pain all the time in my back, hips, and knee. I've been using a cane for years but it doesn't seem to be enough anymore. Even with it, I can't walk or stand for more than ten minutes, and it really starts to hurt after two. I'm on SSI, so I can't really afford a power chair on my own, and I want to get a prescription for one. The issue with that is that I'm on Medicaid, so my GP is the local Urgent Care and the girl that sees me there doesn't really listen to me and always shrugs me off. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this prescription? If you've gotten one, and you have medicaid, what was the process like to actually gwt your chair?

@Pain_Warrior89 - social security (SSI)limited income. @KirbyWirby - I’d call the number on the back of your health card/ medicare card and speak to someone there. They can help you get a primary care set up or help you find where you get yourself a power chair.

Maybe a teaching type drs office? They usually have social workers there, maybe a salvation army, community action? I'm sure they are called something different everywhere. But salvation army and brain inj alliance should be near you??
