TW: Ranting/Venting Will someone please tell me it's going to be alright? my FP is getting a job soon, and as i'm sure people with BPD know, it's heart wrenching. I just need to know that it'll be okay, no matter what atleast I get to see them. I try to tell myself that, but I can never seem to calm myself down. I just need a few kind words.

grumpybia: fp stands for favorite person. It's a common term used amongst those with bpd due to how common it is with those who have borderline. It's typically a partner, but could still be a parental, friend, idol, etc. so long as they are very important to you. Usually those with bpd will have an almost obsessive type of felling towards them where we may get over-jealous, overprotective, fearful they'll leave us, have a powerful urge to do anything to please them, put them on a pedestal, etc. as well as possibly split on them. Sorry if this was too much, it's a hard concept to explain because it varies person to person. 😅

This is definitely very late, but I just joined. I wanted to also say for me personally, I constantly remind myself that if this is the one for me, they will view work a similar way I would. I try to put more perspective in it, seeing the interactions with others, the actions I enjoy doing, etc. and put those feelings as theirs instead of jealousy, fear, any projection onto what they might feel. As for development, I think the hardest and most humbling lesson I've learned is that if I feel I truly can't trust or learn to trust my FP when they're away from me, we probably won't work. The way I CAN do that with my current partner is reminding myself I want them to be happy, they want me to be happy, and I can enjoy some things in my own time and they will be right back when I'm done. Just constant reassurance that things are going to be okay and that my partner is doing a necessary thing in life that all of us do.

Thank You, so so much ❤️ i'm just so scared that own development will pull them away from me.

hey, everything’s going to be alright, they’re getting a job which is a good thing for their own growth and development and you’ll still always be able to see them and can even stop by their work to talk to them and have fun on some days they still love and care about you no matter what and you will definitely still be able to see them love, i know it’s hard but you got this and everything will be okay
