I'm struggling every day with feeling.. frozen... for lack of a better word. I know what I need to do, but my body just doesn't want to move. It feels impossible to do even the slightest thing. Does anyone else struggle with this? what helps you, if anything? it's the one symptom I am still at a loss with.

Tbh I need outside stimulus to get out. Having cats that need to be fed helps. Then I can pet them as I transition back to the world of the living

Okay so I used to deal with this but I'm pretty sure it's mainly from my ADHD bc stimulants helped with it. If it's the same issue, though, it's called "executive dysfunction" and iirc, C-PTSD can mess woth executive functioning. Basically it's an issue with ur neurotransmitters that make it so the motivation systems in your brain don't exactly work. So you'll know what you want or need to do but you might as well be paralyzed by your own brain. There are tips for it, though, even if it means watching ADHD youtubers. But see if any of those tricks help! Good luck!

@minime273 yeah I'm on stimulants, finally caved. They help with the "radio static" jumble in my head, but not with the frozen feeling unfortunately. Coupled with CPTSD, I believe what's happening is in stuck in freeze mode, but I really just don't know how to shake it off. It's soc frustrating. I think the ADHD and the CPTSD team up to glue me to the couch. It takes such a concerted effort to accomplish one thing and it's like I'm moving underwater, and all efforts are maximum effort with minimum payoff, then I'm mentally exhausted from the effort. It's all so annoying. Thanks for commenting! It helps just to discuss all this with others that understand! ❤️

I'm not sure if it's the same experience you have, but when I absolutely cannot make myself do anything, fighting it will make me angry or feel worse so I just allow myself to rest and try again the next day. Sometimes that means just watching videos all day and nothing else. If you can't even do that, daydreaming about something that makes you happy or feel comfortable or meditating may be an option. Sometimes it just takes one thing, a comforting thought or a favorite show/film to get you going again.

@BlackheartEros I feel like that's all I do. And it just makes me hate myself worse. It's frustrating because I know I have so much talent and so many ideas but I can't even do the things I love anymore. I'm so over this crap lol. Sorry to hear you have the same frustrations ❤️
