@Columbia you have to laugh at it. I mean what else can you do to stay sane. I have some funny stories involving my epilepsy. I cope with it by saying it is what it is. I can't do anything about it. I do take three meds and have a VNS. The VNS has been replaced three times and the one I have now is at 35%. I do things to take my mind off of it. I have coloring apps on my phone and use them to de-stress myself, I play games and listen to music on my phone, etc. I really don't think about it all that much. I have had it for almost 21 years now. My seizures were so bad in the beginning that I had no quality of life and I was actually dying from the epilepsy seizures. That's what got me the VNS and it completely turned my life around. I will have had the VNS for 16 years this September. Okay a funny story. Along time ago I was having a seizure, I was my myself and somehow unlocked both dead bolts on the inside house door, unlocked the screen door and walked down the street where I sat down and then it ended. My neighbor was in the yard and was watching me. She sat with me until I was feeling better and not so clouded over. To this day I will never understand how I did all that stuff.
I dont get too many panics as much as I used to and I know it's concerning to most people but I laugh at some dumb situations that's my seizures have came into play. One time I fell down the stairs having a seizure in kindergarten on the last day. I was walking down the stairs stupidly. I just look back and laugh.
I try to laugh. Yes, it has turned my life upside down, but I have to laugh to stay out of the valleys. It also helps most to have those laughs with someone that understands what life like this is like.
