any one else gained a considerable amount of weight since having fibro? and has anyone had help with this from thier gp? Really considering weight loss surgery, what are people's thoughts on this? I know it's not a magic wand, but may help with the weight loss process.. ?

🙌I was 106 in my 20’s and 30’s. I gained 50 lbs after my hysterectomy. I have lost 20 lbs just dieting. Dr said my weight is perfect and do not lose or gain. I never dieted in my life. It was so hard. I feel for all of you. ☹️

I gained about 100 pounds since my pain started, which I largely attribute to starting Lyrica (the timing works out and it’s known to cause a lot of weight gain) along with just not being able to exercise much because of my pain. I went from very active to unable to move! I’ve been doing a diet since the end up September and am proud to be down 45 pounds and counting! If you want to know more about what I did feel free to message me!

I've definitely gained weight despite not eating much and I hate what I see in the mirror. And no help 😢

You are very welcome 😊 I am lucky as I have a very supportive partner that helps a lot around the house, so I don't have to do much, but the fatigue and pain can be too much. Sometimes, I feel very useless. I have a very lovely dietitian as well, that has taken the time to listen to my worries and is very understanding. I hope you find someone like that that can support you in this journey. I'm sorry that you are experiencing comments like that, I know the feeling, but don't let that demoralising you. It will take time to see a change, but don't give up, you will find a way to reach your goal ❤️

people don't seem to get that either. My pain n fatigue prevents me from doing alot. Even down to normal everyday tasks. It's like a never ending viscous circle. Will definitely ask about a dietitian, anything is worth a go. Thank you for your reply 🙏 😊

it is isn't it. I'm on duloxetine now, but been on several different medication over the year's. Nobody seems to get it, had some horrible comments over the year's from family member's on my dad's side.. Will have a look, thank you very much. 💕

I have put on a lot of weight. Some medication can do that to you and if your pain prevents you from exercising it's even worse. I am currently under a dietitian, she has been great but it is taking a while to loose the weight. You can get a referral from your GP if this is a path you wish to take.

Do you take any meds for the fibro? I was put on Cymbalta for it and I gained 100 pounds. I’m still trying to lose it, years later. So frustrating. Weight loss surgery has really mixed results, look into Dr Jason Fung online. He has lots of good research and books about intermittent fasting and weight loss. I hope you find some answers!

@Tabatha I am watching what I eat, but I can't now reverse the weight gain.. And finding it difficult to get it off.. 😕 😥
