After years of various debilitating symptoms and illnesses, including 5 ischemic strokes in my 20s & 30s (i'm 38 now). I finally got a diagnosis of TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura) 2 weeks ago. It was all very hectic and I was told to go into my local hospital the same day for Octoplas infusions, but then went to a specialist hospital 3 hours from me for more intensive tests and treatments. It's all been a bit of a shock to me, just trying to understand the condition and trying to manage it going forward. It's tough for me, but my partner & family/friends have been so amazing. It's been so tough for them, but I don't know how to help, besides pushing on with the treatment. I often don't want to be around anyone, but this is a lifelong diagnosis so I can't just avoid everyone forever. Not sure why I'm writing this. Just needed to vent a bit I suppose.
