It could be a dislocation or a subluxation, which when the bone pops or slides out of its normal place but doesn’t fully dislocate. Depending on your pain and symptoms, you may want a doctor to put it back into place. Subluxations can normally be put back in on your own, whereas most dislocations need to be put back in by a medical professional (though not always the case with EDS patients). I dislocate my shoulder and thumb quite often. Generally my symptoms are restricted blood flow causing numbness and the limb to grow cold, I also lose the ability to control the dislocated limb. My shoulder and thumb are both very hypermobile and I am able to place them myself. However I have several ribs that often dislocate that I go to a chiropractor to have put back in place. With subluxations, I don’t generally lose feeling in the limb and I get a lot of muscle and nerve pain localized in the affected joint. If you can move the joint and feel it slipping or popping, it’s likely the joint subluxing. When you’re first learning the difference between the two it is VITAL for you to consult your doctor on any new symptoms so that you receive proper treatment and care. If it’s not causing you extreme pain, I would see if you could wait until the morning and then see your doctor as soon as possible. If you are loosing feeling and blood flow in the limb, I would seek immediate medical care.

@chronicallyfab thanks so much, I'm still learning what is considered normal with all these dislocations. I'm pretty sure it was just a subluxation. Again, thank you for the help^-^
