My emotional support cat passed away unexpectedly about 3 weeks ago. I was devastated, the only other time I grieved this much for was my mom. MY apartment feels so empty without him. My youngest son called me and when I broke down he said "mom, he was just a cat." He was so much more than that. He was my best friend and companion. He loved me unconditionally and didn't judge me. How can I get this across to my son in a civil way?

So sorry for your lost 😞. I lost my support pet a couple years ago. I had her for the 11 years. Yes very lost when she die.

Sometimes all you have to say to someone is "it may not make sense to you, but it's very real and painful for me, all I ask is for you to respect that". I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you feel better soon.
