      The STOP method in DBT is great. Stop, Take a step back, Observe, Proceed mindfully. Ask yourself what your emotion is doing for you. Before reacting, decide if this reaction will be helpful, and be honest with yourself. If it’s not helpful, then the hardest part is just having to sit with the emotion. You can’t control your emotions so don’t even bother. You can however control your response to these emotions. It’s really hard sometimes and believe me when I say I’m not perfect but it’s something we have to learn to do the best we can

      deep breathing i know its such a bs tip but it really does work sometimes… i usually do a 4 sec increments of breathing in holding and exhaling
