anxiety is getting the best of me lately. I have exactly one assignment left to finish for my degree and I have spent the entire summer too paralyzed to work on it. I can't explain it any better than that, basically I feel like I can't even start. and of course the anxiety gets worse the longer I've put it off. it's stupid because I know I CAN do it, I just psych myself out every time I try to work on it. I even sat down at my computer today and tried to just open the window and LOOK at it, but I couldn't even make myself do that. anyway, I wondered if anyone had some good tricks for just making yourself work when you feel paralyzed.

@ath3na I watch this again today and I think it actually helped! I was able to focus on my project for almost 2 hours ! After a morning full of "climbing the wall", but it still counts!
Oof I feel this! This can be so tough when all you want to do is get. It. Done. I find a few things helpful. I'll put headphones in and play 8D music (there's some awesome playlist on YouTube). Also I find it helpful if I have a body double. So someone that is also doing homework or doing something of their own in the same room as me. And my last tip is pretending like you're doing the work for someone else. I don't know what it is about adhd brains and helping others. It's like a weird loop hole. Like we'll get it done for someone else but not ourselves lol. I hope that helps!

I have been in this exact situation before and I wanna just say you are already working so hard and have done work on this project, even if it may not be in a way that our educational system will accept for a grade. I saw this video by Jessica from How To ADHD that reframed how I felt when I was so incredibly stuck and demoralized by my anxiety and lack of focus. Hopefully this link will work & good luck with your project! https://youtu.be/Uo08uS904Rg
