Explaining DID to others: Tips and Tricks

How I explain it is to imagine you're standing in front of a mirror and someone goes behind you and breaks it. Now there's visibly multiple fragments of you in the mirror

You have a glass ball. traumatic things happen Parts of the glass ball break away The fragmented parts are the alters The larger piece is the child born and named. The smaller pieces defend the larger part of the ball that still remains. Some times breaking in to smaller pieces. When the whole ball shatters though in to hundreds or thousands of smaller pieces and there's not really any semblance of the original glass ball This is polyfragmented DID
