So, I started working on a delivery service for over a week and haven't taken a job yet. I'm really nervous about delivering the products and especially about running into dogs at the residents I deliver to. I am deathly afraid of dogs. Any dogs, any size or breed. Does anyone have any suggestions or encouraging comments because this is the first job I've had in over 6 years and I'd really like to try to succeed at it.

Mosy people have their dogs under control. I have been delivering for almost a year, and I've only had one incident where I thought a dog could be dangerous. The owner came out before I got out of my car.

I would look up signs of aggression in dogs. I think it may help you to know what to look for to keep yourself safe, and if you don't see those things that you'll very likely be safe. Unless it's something you think you would obsess over, then probably don't lol. ALSO thick ass long socks if you're able. Saved me from a really nasty bite one time. All I got was a scratch, if I hadn't had them it probably would've been a hospital visit. That's the only time I've ever been attacked by a dog and I've been around hundreds of dogs I didn't know. By nature if they're scared enough to cause you harm, they'll typically rather avoid you if you're able. Also if you do feel threatened by a particular dog, don't take your eyes off of them. They're less likely to come at you if you're watching.

@SBelleC Just wanted to say I'm not trying to scare you. Like I said, I've been around very very many dogs that I didn't know and didn't know me. A lot of them were not friendly. And I've still only been bit once and it was because I pushed (the dog's) boundaries of their owner, because it was someone I knew. You can do this (:
