[C-PTSD focused] I've been struggling a lot as of late with both motivation and passion. I started going to therapy again in the hope that I can maybe work towards a treatment plan as I am unmedicated currently, but new therapist means I have to give them the rundown of ALL my trauma. We're two bi-monthly sessions in and we haven't even gotten to age ten yet. Should I bring up modern conserns now or just let my therapy take it's corse?

I've found that going in order isn only really helpful when nothing is bothering me in particular, if current events are bothering you more than anything else I'd use a session or so to focus on that instead.

I would say whatever you're feeling at the moment. I bounce all over with my therapist, and we work from where I'm at, any given day. I'm proud of you for trying therapy again. I hope you're able to get the help and support you need. ❤️

Do you feel takes modern concerns take higher priority? If so then I’d definitely bring those up. A conversation about the way your therapy is organized/done would also be worth discussing! Seeing as your mentioned issues you’re having now I would personally bring them up. If there’s relation to anything in the past it can be a good way to tie things together in a session. If you wanted to write an outline or something of relevant info you want them to know that could be helpful in speeding up the process. I’m currently making one now for a slightly different reasons but I know it’s going to really be beneficial for my next session. Currently my therapist and I really go with the flow on things. Sometimes we talk about past trauma and sometimes we talk about modern issues. I’m at a point in therapy where he’s as up to date on my trauma as I want him to be and he knows me well overall. Maybe more of a go with the flow method would work for you? Not sure exactly what type of therapy you’re in though so this might not apply I hope you’re able to get the help you need quickly🖤
