hi, I recently have been being looked at for epilepsy. I have extremely frequent, uncontrolled seizures that affect my muscle strength and balance for hours afterward. ive recently considered using a wheelchair on my bad days when I have to go out in public to keep myself from falling and to still be able to move around without aid. have you ever considered this?

I have epilepsy, complex partial seizures. My balance is off for about 48 hours. I just sit on the couch and only get up to go to the bathroom.

I don't have seizure enough to properly compare but I can definitely see the utility in a wheel chair. If you feel it would help lessen pain after seizures and let you be more mobile I'd say go for it

Im still waiting for my EEG appointment (have been waiting for over a month and a half) and the medication im currently on does practically nothing for the seizures. Its reduced them from 10+ seizures a day to closer to 3 or 4, but my seizures are usually clusters and I have no rescue medication, so I often end up unable to move around for extended periods of time. I realize that may change with different medications and treatments, but currently my quality of life is extremely poor, so considering a wheelchair would give me at least the ability to go out in public more frequently for now.
Hey, I’m treated with tegretol for my epilepsy, and I've been on remission for a year, after taking it. Were you diagnosed and treated properly? Using a wheelchair to keep yourself from falling sounds like something to use at a very advanced stage. Are you sure you’re already there?
