If you need to go badly but can't, I would suggest doing a half dose of colonoscopy prep. Normally, prep is a 32 oz bottle of Miralax mixed with 2 64 oz bottles of gatorade to be consumed within an hour. Really bad constipation would be cause for doing a half dose if nothing else has worked. So, 1 16oz bottle of Miralax in 1 64 oz of Gatorade. I'd stick to an hour to drink it all. It's the only bowel prep I will do, as there is no cramping or pain. I will NEVER do magnesium citrate again. It causes horrible stomach cramping, and basically, I thought I was going to die for hours. Do sip water while you're doing the Miralax/Gatorade in order to stay hydrated. Lastly, Fleet enemas work if you are okay with that route. If the Miralax doesn't work within a couple of hours, you need to get yourself to an emergency room because you may have a bowel obstruction.

It might be worth trying something that has Simeticone in it I get constant cramps and a lot of medication related constipation and it does really help ease the pain and discomfort
Have you tried Miralax? I took it with Pedialyte before my 2nd colonoscopy. Also, try taking IBGard. It helps with constipation, diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas and it's made from peppermint oil which is known to help those with irritable bowel syndrome.
Stool softener? I use Docusate sodium.
@StephB unfortunately I took one already. I even tried plum juice.
@Andizee warm prune juice works better for me than room temp/cold. They give it to elderly people to help constipation.
