@Lizz062755 got it, sorry I’m not sure how it works in that case! I really hope you’re able to figure something out! If you decide to have the spinal fusion and have questions about what it’s like feel free to message me!

I’m 22 and having mine on Thursday. If PT, meds, and other surgeries haven’t worked it’s probably your best option. It’s also worth trying ketamine infusions and CBT if you haven’t tried either yet! Both are great for chronic pain, but it’s only going to help so much if the root cause isn’t addressed. I hope it works out for you! I tried everything and nothing worked so I’m getting my spinal fusion.

@Belugabear can you tell me more about the ketamine treatment

@Lizz062755 so I don’t have a disc issue, my fusion is because I have Bertelotti’s. But if you’re looking for ways to help just the pain without fixing the issue the things I mentioned may help! Ketamine is basically a drug that used to be used as an anesthetic. Now it is widely used for mental health disorders, however it is also great for pain! I have been using it and it made a world of difference in my fibro pain. It somewhat helped my back too, however not completely so I’m still having surgery. But it might be worth a shot!

@Belugabear did they tell you that the disc below and above will go bad and you will have to do it again

@Lizz062755 nope! It should be once and done for me, but I don’t have any other disc issues
