When did you become an agoraphobic and has it gotten better for you? I feel as if I'll never be able to travel again.

My agoraphobia has had it's ups and downs. I spent a solid two years indoors once and then managed to leave again fine with therapy for four. Now I've spent another two indoors and I'm starting to leave again. Agoraphobia is able to be beaten it is just a hard fight and I believe in both of us

It got really bad for me about two years ago. I was refusing to go to school more days than I would go and it just felt like i was sad and anxious all the time. I ended up graduating high school early just to get out of there and have been easing my way into college since. Small progress is progress, try and challenge yourself in little ways. Celebrate what you can do and don’t beat yourself up for what you can’t <3

Hi! I got diagnosed in seventh grade, I refused to travel and pretty much go anywhere, what helped me the most was “tough love” my parents forcing me to go out with them and eventually it got so much easier, last year I went to a summer camp, and traveled and I’m going to do the same this summer, it feels very scary but I promise it doesn’t last forever, just try baby steps 💕
