Recently went third wheeling with one of my friends at the fair for the first time and it wasn't a great experience. I resulted in just not interacting in their conversations and vented to one of my friends on snap about how lonely and paranoid I am while internally panicking in public despite not saying a word. Ended up getting ditched by them 20 mins later with no reason.

      Thank you so much man! I've felt like a nervous wreck during that situation. I basically told my self to just focus on my own thing and be calm which works in almost every scenario but most of the people there were people going to my school so that gave a negative impact on me since it's people my age having fun with friends or their dates. I guess what made me like that was just comparing them to me which is obviously not a good mindset to follow.

      Yeah, for sure. I have a similar problem when I try to compare myself to everyone else around me, and I've even made up excuses to not go to places when a friend asks me somewhere, because I didn't want to deal with my stomach feeling all in knots from the anxiety

      Sorry to hear about that. I have often felt that way in social situations myself (oh, who am I trying to kid, not just 'often' but practically everytime), so I can relate to the feeling. Wish I had some advice on how to handle stuff like this, but I'm still struggling myself, so I can at least offer some understanding and caring. Hope you have a better day/night/whatever time it is where you are
