I had a car accident back in like June or may, and another car wasn't watching, and hit us, and I felt the window shatter. And saw her passed out on the wheel. Everytime I drive with someone now, I can't help but stare at the road and watch them as they drive.. or when I'm driving all I think about is that car crash. I don't know how to cope with it, my family doesn't recognize this as ptsd, and they tell me to get over it and I just can't.

My ptsd is from being hit by a car while walking. I was in a crosswalk with the walk signal and the driver decided she was gonna turn to beat a car from the other direction and she couldn't see cuz it was sunny but was wearing sunglasses and her visor was done and ran right into me. Had she not stopped when she did she would've ran my legs over. Luckily I landed on my bookbag and I didn't shatter my arm or bust my head open but I still got pretty messed up. I used to walk to work every day and this november will be a year that I haven't walked to work bc I cant cross the intersection.

You’re not alone, and it is PTSD. Therapy definitely helps & talking to a therapist. EMDR (a therapy technique for PTSD) also is fairly helpful

My PTSD is from a car accident, too. It took me years to even start driving again.

I was in a car accident two years ago. It’ll be three in June. A drunk driver hit us head on and we flew back 200 feet. I understand. I always am very scared when I see a car coming towards us because they are passing something or someone else. Try getting a therapist to talk to. It helps. A psychiatrist could also be beneficial. It gave me bad depression so I am on meds for that.
