I used to be on Lyrica and I'd still have fairly regular flares but less often. Lyrica didn't work for me after a while but at first it was great and helped with sleeping as well

Yeah I still get neuropathy but I think it's from diabetes 2. But my nerve damage inside my appendages and stuff in my back seem to have gone away the neuropathy only happens when I'm holding my phone a certain way and I think it loses like I get a pinched nerve in it makes my fingers numb or tingly or whatever

I believe Lyrica is a death wish but thatās my experience.

Lyrica made one pain stop and another start. Made my hands and feet swell. So I had to stop. Gabapentin did the same. Im not on any pain meds atm, im being made to suffer.
@DogWhisperer I had the same problem. Now on duloxetine and tizanidine, and adding to them. Muscle relaxers are the first step.
@faerywyrm I'm on tizanidine too. It makes me drowsy. So I just take it at night. Still in pain. Drs don't know why I'm in pain either.
Lyrica works great on me Iām on 75 mg 2x a day

There is no scientific information to suggest that Pregablin (brand name amongst many is Lyrica) will damage your nerves. I am on the top dosage and have been for a while to treat my fibromyalgia. It is essentially a pain killer that works on your nervous system to dampen pain sensations. Everyone reacts differently to all kinds of medications. This helped me and continues to.

@Elle01 its supposed to help WITH nerve damage.

It worked for me in the earlier stages of my neuropathy, but when I tried it again, it stopped working. Good luck!

You start at a low dosage and gradually increase with your Dr. It's a good medication but you do get a lot of side effects along with it, which I am on more meds to counter balance the side effects. I think the best advice would be to try it, give it a chance and make your own mind up about it. Every person is different and reacts to meds differently xxx
@katyjla my starting dose will be 75mg with the goal dose 300-450mg according to my discharge papers. I sent message to my pcp on mychart and will have a phone appointment this week. Before they send the prescription to my divvydose mail order pharmacy. (This came so much in handy during the pandemic)
@Harvey78 I have heard that a lot of people can not tolerate the side effects at higher dosages. I am taking 200 per day, it has worked well for years. I recently tried to up it to 300 due to mid-evening neuropathy pain. The dizziness and blurry vision were way worse and I had to go back to 200. It still is working better than anything else I have tried. I changed the time I take, from 8 am/pm to 11 am/pm, and it helped with the mid-evening pain. I wish you luck! Hopefully you can get great relief with it. š¤

So it worked for me but the side effects were awful. I couldnāt think and gained 100 pounds. I still had plenty of flares but it took the edge off of daily pain. I had a lot more success with topamax! Might be worth looking into, I know several people with similar experiences as well

@Belugabear i started Ozempic last week im not worried about weight gain
@Harvey78 got it! But do be aware it might be harder to work or go to school or even focus on anything, brain fog is already had with fibro but I found the lyrica made it ten times worse, thatās really the reason I came off of it
Lyrica, Savella or Cymbalta never worked for mine. I hope you do well on it. My pain isnāt the tingling type of pain. In the summer it is mostly all muscular pain, in the winter I still have muscle pain at times but it is mostly bone pain. As if the myelin sheath is being ripped from everything and bones are fractured. I take Baclofen for spasms and Costochondritis. I took tramadol and it worked until it didnāt. I have taken several strengths of hydrocodone and am to the point at 10/325 that it doesnāt work well. Thatās the bad part of opiates; your body acclimates to the dosage and you need something stronger. I hope Lyrica is your godsend. Do not be surprised of any weight gain.
@KellyKC i get tpi for muscle pain im more concerned about the damaged nerves pain
I have noticed some flare ups with lyrica but there not as bad before I took them Iām on 75 mg but he needs to up them again
I hope it works out well for you. I couldn't do it, as my fibromyalgia was already too advanced.
I have been on Lyrica for several years. It has helped me tremendously. I still have flares occasionally, but not nearly as debilitating and don't last as long.
@dolphinblues thats amazing! I hope i have a similar experience š
@Harvey78 I hope you do too! š¤
I've never been on that medication it's hard to say. All I know is my sister was on it and had terrible side effects. I hope it works for you. Good luck!
@eternalgemini im sorry it didn't work out for your sister.

Lyrica is a medication that can help manage fibromyalgia pain by pushing the pain to the back of your mind, but it may not completely eliminate it. Flares may still occur, and individual experiences with Lyrica can vary. Some people find relief with Lyrica, while others may need additional pain management techniques or medications.
