Does anyone have any advice on determining whether your fears and reactions are justified in the situation or are projections of your trauma? I am sort of struggling with someone in my personal life whose actions are eliciting responses in me that I'm worried aren't rational, how can I differentiate the rational from the irrational? Any advice is much appreciated

It's hard but be nice to yourself. Just because a reaction may have been a trauma response doesn't mean it's an overreaction or even completely irrational. I try to remind myself that my trauma responses are my brain trying to protect me. Something I try to do myself is ,if I have the option, is to explain why I am reacting the way I am.

@Satin thank you so much. I'm trying to be as patient with myself as I can. I want to hope for a best case scenario but the more time passes the more evidence suggests it might not be the case :/ I just don't want to make the wrong choices
