I take my breakthrough med and curl up in a warm blanket. I put a soft rock at the base of my skull. Don't know why it works, but my grandfather started it. He believed in the power of stones and it's comforting to have something cool at the base of my skull with some support for my head.

Also! Not sure if you're this way, but my migraines make me very sensitive to light. I have a sleep mask for times when my room isn't dark enough, even with the curtains drawn, and sunglasses for outside (and/or inside) use. Diet coke and fries help me too, although I'm not sure why. They're my go-to migraine cure, since I'm not on any medication for my migraines. But the body pain just needs rest babey. If it's sharp you stay still and rest it, maybe toss an ice pack on, and if it's achey and stiff in a way that isn't overexertion, some very gentle and slow stretching/movement is in order. Maybe even a heat pack to help relax those muscles.
@ShortcakeBirdie diet coke and fries sounds REAL GOOD. I've heard this a lot from other migraineurs and I also crave salty junk food when I have an attack.
It's good to have ready made meals that, at most, need only a microwave to be done. Have a trash can near the bed, and a filled water bottle too. My pill container stays resting on my headboard so I don't have to walk to get it, and I check the weather forecast to better anticipate bad days, which isn't 100 percent reliable and accurate, but it helps. Distractions too! If you hurt too much to sleep, have some music or shows to watch or listen to at the ready. ❤️ If you don't have the luxury of staying home during bad pain days, which is inevitable at best and an every day occurrence at worst, pack a bag full of medical essentials. Reading glasses for when your vision goes blurry from strain if you need to keep working, and take breaks as often as you can.
