I have talked with my therapist about this and we discuss how life with chronic pain is about making your own room for flexibility when you are having symptoms. It's hard but I have managed to find hope in my future by thinking about what ways my life can adjust and give myself more possibilities.

It’s not really managing and saying ok. It’s how it is. It took me a long time to kind of accept it. Things did get better. For me a lot better but I was really bad. Simple tasks became complicated. Even just following along in a conversation was extremely difficult. Driving I had to pay extreme attention to. I had to turn the radio off often. But I kept going to the doctor taking my medicine pushing myself some not too much because the next day was so bad I couldn’t do anything. Now I can follow a conversation drive no problem but I’m still not what I used to be. The pain sucks but I usually can deal with it. Its the brain function I lost that are the hardest. If I don’t do something regularly I will be unsure of exactly how I did it. I usually just try to think what would I do. For instance I had a problem with my front brakes on my motorcycle. It took me a while to fix it. I don’t remember how long. It could of been a half a day, a day or even days. The problem is back and I have to fix it again. I’m not sure what I did so I’ll have to start over but I know it wasn’t simple so I’ll think what could I have done that wasn’t obvious. Don’t get me wrong I’ll try the obvious but I won’t spend a lot of time repeating it
