I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a rough time. I think using the Xanax w/o rx is dangerous. I think you should do everything you can to see a psychiatrist and explain to them exactly what’s going on, and that the Xanax IS working but you’re having trouble with the dependence. The concern with benzos is mainly addiction, so you need to get on this right away so it doesn’t get worse. I don’t have experience with this exact situation, but I think you could pretty easily get a safe medication plan with meds that can help without the major risks (propranalol, hydroxyzine, gabapentin, Buspar etc). Xanax is still okay for emergencies but there’s meds you can take every day that do a similar job without the risks.
