I accidentally let my boyfriend's sister's dog loose. the dog is in heat currently. my boyfriend was so angry, which is understandable. he later apologized about his anger and frustration. I reminded him of a time that he told me how I hate myself so much, so that's why I have 6 facial piercings and neon pink hair, and that screw ups like this are one of the reasons I hate myself. my anxiety is super high. I don't know what's going on anymore. I don't have access to a therapist right now, apparently Brightside "doesn't have a therapist" in my area, even though it's online, and accepted in my state. I have a psychiatrist through them, who has prescribed me duloxetine (genetic cymbalta) 40mg, it's helping a lot with anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, but I still have anxiety from time to time. what do any of you guys with high anxiety and intrusive thoughts (sometimes trigger related) do to cope?

I just shake it out of my head, or I pretend it's not there because I know it's bad, so I play music or do something to distract myself from the bad thoughts

Shit happens. Don't be so hard on yourself. I know that is hard but it's okay to make mistakes.

@Mykie yeah, I know a lot of people so not to do this but if I'm sad I listen to sad music because it gets the energy out. If I listen to happy music while I'm sad it just makes me more sad. I hope that makes sense.
