I'm nervous for my friend. She has depression and I think general anxiety as well as social anxiety. She has three kids under the age of 6, and is pregnant with her fourth. She separated ties with her family a couple years ago, it was really tense. So she doesn't have much support. She is married, has a husband. Raising kids is just so chaotic. Thankfully one of them is finally in pre-school this year. Her oldest son is always pushing over his younger sister which is scary to me. She practices this super gentle parenting, which to me just feels like her kids are wild and adds to her stress. Her life just seems very chaotic, she never is away from her kids like EVER, she had basically been pregnant or breastfeeding for 5 years straight and doesn't even leave her kids with husband ever to get out of the house, even though I'm sure he wouldn't object. It just seems super unhealthy, and she always has an excuse when I try to tell her to take a break from her kids for her own mental health. It is so sad to watch her suffer, who can handle having children cling to you 24/7 she is constantly stressed or worrying, I can't remember the last time I have seen her smile or laugh. Any have any advice or can relate? Thanks for reading.

Unfortunately I kind of understand this and where your friend is coming from, I was in a domestic abuse relationship and we had a child. All my problems came from being in that relationship obviously. But I have social anxiety, ptsd, depression and just plain old anxiety but being with my son is the only time I feel happy and safe, even though it's such hard work it's what makes things better even if it doesn't seem that way to others. I haven't been away from my son in 6 years as he also is traumatized by the abuse and he was only a baby. It started 2 years before he was born. Sometimes our kids are our safe haven. I'm sorry for the long message but I thought it might help if I explained how it helps me. Now my son is getting older obviously he doesn't need me as much and it makes my anxiety worse because like I say he's my saviour the thing I focus on most xxx I also see it from your point of view your worried for your friend who wouldn't be.
