@mmikl633 I also have open check mark boxes listed under a daily goals section. If I know there’s something I need to do the following day, I write it into a blank space there the night before and then I look over the whole thing each morning to know what I can choose to do if I want to feel as though my day has been adequately spent.

Onyx is the coolest name ever. I start my day the night before. I have a morning routine and night routine I follow every day using a check list which helps me celebrate each and every victory - shower, check mark. Moisturizer - check mark. The most basic things I have on a typed out daily checklist. On that list I also set my goals for my meals the night before as best I can, and if I decide to stray, I try to stray on the healthier side. Nightly routine? Read, check mark. Even if it’s just a page a day. That’s a victory. Magnesium and melatonin, check mark. You get the gist, but it has done wonders for my self-esteem. I used to feel like a waste of life, endlessly wasting my days, and though my existential side will always be one voice in my head, it’s not the only one anymore. I can celebrate my successes now throughout my day, every step of the way.

Hi onyx! I usually let myself lay down for a max of 30 minutes before going to the bathroom, washing up a little, and taking my antidepressants first thing. Then I'll feed the cat, eat, then feed the dog. Taking the dog out is something I have to push myself to do but I usually do end up enjoying it

Hi Onyx! Fellow trans guy here (he/they pronouns for me) As far as mornings go, my rabbit wakes me up every morning by 6 to get me to feed him. I used to go right back to bed after, but kept getting frustrated because I could never fall back asleep, but a few months ago my therapist suggested that I try and make it more of a fleshed out morning ritual and so now I usually make some tea and toast while I'm prepping the buns breakfast. I sit on the floor with him while we both eat and I usually play some music. After breakfast depending on the weather I try to spend some time outside or in the greenhouse checking on all the plant babies while I drink my tea. Then depending on the severity of my symptoms I'll either get started with my day or go back to bed if my sleep wasn't good or I'm having a really bad pain or brain day. The whole routine takes about an hour and if I do end up needing to go back to bed I find it a lot easier to relax and (occasionally, not super often) am able to fall back asleep if I need to after having my little bit of morning time
