So, my anxiety has been pretty high lately and I just need to kinda get it out.... I had an abnormal pap smear this year. haven't had one since 2005 (and that was from having sex the night before) but this one they decided to do 2 cervical biopsies and found malignant cancerous cells on my cervix. needless to say, I'm freaking out like crazy. I have to have them remove the cells but they canceled my procedure that I had scheduled. sorry, just needing to get this out.

Hello! Perhaps if they perform a cervix cryosurgery (freeze and destroy abnormal tissue in the cervix), you'll do great. Several years back I had the same issue, and they did that. Up until today, I'm doing great. Good luck! Try to find stuff to do to forget about it... but follow up so you can check it off your list.

have you found out what type and stage of cancer you have? cervical cancer is a lot like skin cancer in that you don't even need any kind of chemo or radiation if it's caught before it spreads anywhere, just surgery to remove the cancer. you'll have to have a hysterectomy, but they'll leave your ovaries in if they're clear. if they remove any lymph nodes, be prepared for a lot of immensely painful swelling in the corresponding leg(s) while your body adjusts to being down a lymph node. massage and light walking should help keep that fluid moving and reduce the pain. Relax. Breathe. You'll be okay

Yikes! I'm so sorry. Is it possible for another doctor or clinic to get you in sooner for a follow up? Try to breathe.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Unfortunately, I don't know how I can be much help because I don't know what an abnormal pap smear is. But I will say it will be ok in the end.

@KatGPT lol, a pap smear is a cervical swab they do usually every 1-2 years to make sure everything is OK. Am abnormal one means there's something wrong.

@dream6284 oh ok. I know what abnormal means. I just didn't know what a pap smear was. Still, I believe everything will be ok in the end for you

They need to get you in soon. I'd call and ask for the office manager.

@Daisygirlie I have to call Monday morning to reschedule. It's just stressing me out knowing I have cancerous cells in my body that could easily decide to spread

@dream6284 Sometimes waiting is one of the most frustrating things to do. To not feel like you have control over something in your body is hard enough in itself. I will pray you get in right away. That they will adopt the proper measures to get rid of the cancer. Sometimes they will change the way they approach things . Are you seeing a specialist or is this your gynecologist?

I'm so sorry! I'd be freaking out about that too! I'm hoping they caught it quickly and can get it taken care of 🙏🏻
