So I had my 1st steroid epidural yesterday. have a few days yet for it 2 work. I'm looking for others experience w my back issues, it's a list.... .multilevel disc desiccation/DDD . fibrofatty filar thickening L2-L3 to sacrum . bilateral facet arthropathy severe L4-L5 .ligamentum flavum hypertrophy severe L4-L5 . bilateral/left/bilateral neural sub particular foraminal stenosis moderate all . disc bulge all . superimposed left foraminal/extraforaminal disc protrusion L3-L4. severe Every disc I have is messed up from lower back MRI. haven't had upper yet. My pain management wants 2 deal w the stenosis 1st. Most of those are mild 2 severe I just listed severe. I'm not that old, no accidents. Has anyone had good outcome w any treatment for these things? Shud I look for a specialist and do more than pain management? Which specialist? I have 2 referrals for PT. I also have CFS and Fibro. So stressed about PT. Has anyone w stenosis gotten better w just that? Surgery? Any info on it cuz I'm so new at this. .

How do you feel now? Um having my second MRI because the pain is so terrible since October I haven’t been able this work. Last January the pain management put a steroid in L5 it didn’t now I’m worse. Im November he said I want to try the SI joint inyección, says no then he said I will refer you to the surgeon. She’s the one that ordered the second MRI.

I am right there with you have had 2 laminectomy and now they want to fuse. I am 33. I have been dealing for years and medicaid sucks. And they say I don't qualify for disability. But someone hooked on drugs do. Figure that out. I am in Alabama

I went to a hip and knee Dr in March of this year because my left hip was screaming. Thru an aqaintence and a problem her younger daughter was having,I researched a lot and when I went to this well know Dr in our area,he hemmed and hawed a bit and I asked if it could be bersitis His words," Well,it could be but,if your lower back wasn't such a mess, you wouldn't be having this problem.!!!" No e cc planation. He had x-rays done Before be saw him. I know my back issues but he has no bedside manner. I was so got that I couldn't think of anything else to ask.

@MommaJo 😂😂 ya 1st thing mine said was " how come u haven't gotten this taken care of sooner?" I wanted 2 hit something. I have a list of Drs I been 2 that referred me for MRI, never went thru and thru never fought 4 me. Medicad isn't easy 2 deal w. Doing it since I was about 24-25yrs old, I'm 42 now. Or they just flat out don't believe u. "Ur way 2 young". Well I'm suffering more now. My right hip gets REALLY bad when I overdo my back. I have spurs all over from years of arthritis and bones rubbing together. Left has them as well but no pain yet.

Physical therapy is wonderful!! I don't know how your pain specialist works--are they actually doctors or just APRNs? I had an awesome Pain Management Group in D.C. Then moved to CT, and my pain management was terrible. Just wrote prescriptions.

@Catastrophe there is an actual Dr. But normally I do see the Arnp for my monthly meds. The Dr sees me for injections and there's a Neuro with them. He's difficult 2 see tho. Always booked. Now they tell me he's booked till December .

@Jlync80 it's impossible to see specialists now. I really have a hard time thinking someone is booked until December! I just heard back from my Neurologist 's office. They can't see me until September for a very recent and scary incident. Are we all supposed to go to the ER? Argh!!!

I have stenosis and have had 3 surgeries. I've also tried countless injections. I just got a new pain dr and so far the injections she's done have helped.

I have the same, but i don't remember which disks are effected. I do know that it starts at the base of my spine all the way down. I had to get All of my injections in my neck. Now they are saying i might have to get surgery. Waiting on my MRI results. Fingers crossed that they say no to surgery. I've met several people where i live who had surgery on their spine and it didn't turn out well for any of them. We don't have the best doctors here.

@fleshpit I hear the exact same about surgery. I think that's just everywhere. Prayers for u Hun. My pain management said they don't like discussing surgery. Do u use any other specials?
