hey lovely people, I suffer pretty badly with social anxiety. it's been really bad lately to the point I've had to ring in sick this week because there's so many people in work as we're training students (I work in a vet hospital). I get overwhelmed when theres too many people around me and it triggers my anxiety so I have panic attacks. I've also been accepted for a new job role and they're all super lovely people. At my current role, ive been belittled, berated, deflated and defeated which has really not helped. I'm an RVN and a good one at that imo, but some people at my job don't think that. don't know why I'm posting, I think it's just for venting but any advice I'd be greatful for.

@HousePlantLover thankfully, it's not. It's in a new city (village), new practice, new everything. That's why I went for the new job is because it's a quieter role and a smaller practice
It sounds like the new job is going to be an improvement at least! And you seem confident in what you do. Don’t listen to the haters-they’re probably just jealous. I’d say just do your best.. if you need to call out sick that’s fine (I used to do the same thing) but don’t let the bastards grind you down!! 💕
Is the new job role still in the same premises? I am so sorry those people have treated you like that. People just don't understand how absolutely crippling social anxiety can be. Mine comes and goes. Mine got so bad I didn't leave the house and had to get someone to help me. People who haven't experienced it, just don't get it. Have you tried music? Some people have suggested to me recently some new earplugs that block out background noise, but allow you to still hear when you're spoken to? Would that help maybe? Definitely sounds like you'll be better in your new role either way.
