Hi. I agree with idek_bear about talking to your doctor. I was diagnosed bipolar when I was a teen. Last year my psychiatrist talked to me about BPD and we both agree that I while I could have both, I definitely align more with BPD. There's a different line of treatment for it that I really enjoy. Sometimes it just takes the right questions. Good luck!

I agree with everything else that was said! While getting a diagnosis can be very validating/relieving, BPD is still very stigmatized and some health care providers may not treat it with the care it deserves. If you do get a diagnosis, prioritize finding an accepting (medically correct) therapist/other provider

@Possumking im constantly invalidated for it and I'm scared if i come out about it to people around me that they'll call me dramatic but i don't think the way i feel and act and think is just "normal teenager horomones/mood swings"...

talk to your doctor, tell them your concerns & ask that they refer you to their Social Work Dept. who will help you find a therapist & psychiatrist. Borderline & Bipolar are extremely similar but they have 1 factor that's different: Bordline is developed due to your environment & Bipolar is genetic, so keep that in mind as well! Be adimant that your PCP refer you to Social work & be adimant that Social Work helps you find a therapist who takes your insurance. Don't go in guns-blazing but definitely keep your guard up & advocate for yourself.

@idek_bear i feel like mine was very developed based on my upbringing and the fact i was treated horribly my entire childhood by all of my peers
