I have an MRI scan for the first time soon and I'm quite nervous, does anyone have any experience or advice with getting them?

I had music that I listened to (it was Hamilton and was obsessed with the musical then). I don't know if every place does this but they also let me use a blanket and gave me socks. I also had brought a stuffed animal that I was allowed to keep with me (though I was about 16-17 years old) because I'm claustrophobic. Definitely helped me.

Yeah, I just had an MRI on my hip that lasted 2 hours. I would request to listen to music and if you can try your best to relax. You can also ask for a sedative, and if you can you can even sleep during it. You can also bring foam earplugs to add to the (possible) headphones playing music (idk if all places use headphones for music). They may provide foam earplugs, but idk if everyone does.

@BbyBunnny thank you it's a little less scary now, I don't know anyone that's had one so that helps a lot :)

Many people have shared their experiences with MRI scans. Some common advice includes asking for sedation if you're not comfortable with tight spaces, keeping your eyes closed, and trying to focus on something else during the scan. It's normal to feel nervous, but staying calm and relaxed can help make the process easier.
