Hi all! I'm joining Alike to connect with other chronic overthinkers, self doubters, rumination experts. I don't feel my family and friends "get it" and also worry about being a burden or seeming "crazy" to them (=unrealistic worry). I am struggling to find a medication that really works for me and would love to hear other people's experiences with this. I also would love to share ways to challenge negative thought spirals and cognitive distortions.

Hi. Ah, rumination. Yes, turning that ugly thought over and over again in your head, whatever the thought is. And, it's never a pleasant thought. Dwelling on positive things would make too much sense. I can totally relate to this. I've done it my whole life. I think I developed this habit as a kid as a way to cope with an insanely unstable childhood and now that it's no longer useful, I'm having a hard time letting it go.
