I've had IBS for a long time but lately it's been getting worse I wake up and my stomach hurts and I have gas and bloating and it burns and my doctor has me on Prilosec but I don't think it's working and then I'll eat something that goes away for a little bit and then I'll have a bowel movement and then right after the bowel movement I have severe diarrhea and then throughout the rest of the day my stomach still hurts

Candida can definitely complicate things because yeast overgrowth with cause leaky gut syndrome. It's important to start with a food diary and see what symptoms you experienced from different foods so you can eliminate them. For me I take probiotics daily, completely cut out sugar, wheat and dairy, they all increase inflammation and acid. Some nutritionists say we should eat fermented foods or have a shot of diluted apple cider vinegar to add digestion. Prilosec is only a temporary bandaid, your body will create new pumps to compensate because you must have that acid to digest foods. Bear in mind what we internalize mentally will affect our tummies. The brain/gut connection is real. I suggest time alone, deep breathing, and journaling. How we perceive things can tear up our stomach if we are stressed. Walking is a great way to create a smoother intestinal motility.

I had microbial overgrowth when tested. They give you an antibiotic just for that. It worked twice for a few days but it comes back if your gut is not motile enough to push microbes into the large intestine. Sounds like ibs-c. I can’t offer medical advice but for me miralax was helpful. At least it was a lesser pain and gave my gut less stress.

All this symptoms are normal wen you have ibs, for my experience of more than 16 years with ibs ,the best you can do is Diet or not to eat food that make you feel bad ,drink plenty of water, Prilosec is not strong enough, you need 3 o 4 days before start working
