Struggling with Self Care: Showering

does anyone else have issues showering ?? it's very hard for me to self care lately .. and it's embarrassing to say how long I will go some times without a shower .. and I don't smell or anything and I honestly don't know what triggers this ... it seems like it just happens ...I am beating myself up over it.. I am changing my clothes during the week.. but Friday to Sunday same clothes and I barely get outta my bed.. and I don't wanna do anything that I know will make me feel better... I need to ask how you guys handle this and I also need to know that I am not alone

      You are definitely not alone in this. I have always struggled with self care. I also get embarrassed at how long I go without showering. It's really difficult to fight as i know for myself that I have to being having a ok day or I literally don't not care. I don't have the mental capacity most of the time. Even though I know I will feel better afterwards it's just so difficult to actually do. Remember it's ok not to be ok. Do it in your own time. No point making yourself feel worse as that will just make the following shower even harder x

        @natzh83 thank you for this! And yeah I will go two weeks easy no shower . Like to the point I take my hair outta the hair tie holding my messy bun and my hair doesn't move... And I am having issues just wanting to shower .. and I have trauma around the shower so that doesn't help.. I was ripped outta a shower by my abusive ex by my hair while I was rinsing my hair out and now it's even harder than before... And seriously ty for making me feel normal when it comes to not being able to self care properly .. it helps to know I am not alone
