Struggling with Depression in Relationships

so i’m 21 almost 22 and i’ve only been in one relationship that was last summer. he was my first love, i was his, but i feel like my depression played a major role in why he broke up with me. every reason he stated was a result of my depression and i’ve tried to tell him what it’s like for me. i’ve started seeing another guy and i’m afraid of experiencing the same thing. he doesn’t seem to quite understand just how badly depression can affect someone. i can’t help but feel scared when he gets confused as to why it is so hard for me to do things due to lack of energy and motivation
