I remember vividly back in 2017 my home being set on fire by my moms abusive boyfriend. I can’t help but feel the same fear on a day to day basis that I felt back then. The warmth of the fire on my face as tears formed in my eyes. Hearing my mom scream and my siblings cry as well. I can’t help but feel the everlasting panic.

      @sirinity there are lots of different types of therapy, and a therapist isn't there to fix the problem or suddenly make you feel better. a therapist essentially acts as the voice in your head and helps you build better habits and coping mechanisms. they can also refer you to someone who can prescribe medication if that's what you need. therapy isn't an instant fix, it's a toolbox you slowly add things to so you can both cope with what's already happened and adapt to any future changes or traumas

      It's only been five years. It'll get easier to carry eventually, but that's something that'll stick with you for the rest of your life. Have you spoken to a therapist about the incident?

        @wise I’ve tried therapy but it never seems to sooth me.
