My partner is going on a week long trip. He is my support system and best friend. Half of me wants to throw a tantrum and make him stay, but the other half knows he needs this trip and isn't going on it to get away from me. I just can't help but feel abandoned. How do you deal with these feelings?

I agree with everyone else. I do sewing on Mondays, crochet on Tuesday, etc. Not only does it keep me busy, but I can meet new people.

I would def make some plans for myself for the week he's gone. Before he goes, do something special together and make plans for when he gets back. Also, are you able to communicate while he's gone?

@Giftedempath that's a great idea, thank you. I'll try to make some plans for myself to look forward to. I will be able to communicate with my partner while he's gone. I just don't want to annoy him while he is with his family

Have something for you to do while they are gone, an online video game, playing with a pet animal, or discord chats help me through the days that my s.o. is away for long periods of time. Also if you can Skype them or something, ask if yall can Skype before bed and fall asleep on Skype with them so that you dont feel abandoned.
