I've had IBS-C for years and years, but now I've started metoprolol for heart rate issues and I've been super constipated for ages! Is this something others have dealt with on medication and how do you deal with it? I'm scared to use laxatives in case of uncontrollable impromptu diarrhea.
Hi, one of the side effects that metoprolol can do is serious constipation. Even if you suffer from ibs. I also suffered from terrible constipation due to metoprolol. I went to my family doctor and he changed my medicine to another one that has less constipating side effects. Have you tried contacting your GP?
