Dealing with the type of anxiety that can only really leave my body through a tantrum this morning. Obviously, I can't tantrum and that's not a good solution anyway. Breathing exercises aren't working, distractions aren't working, stimming isn't working. I can't even logic out a solution because I don't know why I'm so anxious today. There's no trigger I can think of. Any suggestions at all?

Exercise. Run, punch a punching bag, do sit ups, whatever to get the energy out. Calming down through breathing and distractions isn't working because you aren't getting rid of the adrenaline that's released during your anxiety attack.

Sometimes you just need to have a tantrum by yourself to calm down.. have you tried a shower? I've started turning my shower to as cold as I can stand it at the end for about a minute and it really helps. Or just taking a full cold shower if you can and really need it

I had a bad attack last night myself. Do you have and ice pack or ice that you can get to? If so get that. If it's ice cubes put them in a towel. Then put it on your forehead and eyes. Feel the cold and breathe in and count down from 4 do the same when you breathe out. Your gonna do that 3 times. Another thing I saw is putting an ice tray with ice in it on your wrist or your forehead can also help. But if you don't have access to any of the things I suggested you can use that's fine. You can get through this.

OMG. That was me yesterday. I really wanted to break something, or put my first thru the wall or somebody's face. I kept repeating it out loud while I was cooking& doing laundry & it just disappeared. I have no idea how. You could try screaming into a pillow. Sometimes that primordial release helps. Blessings.

@AnimalBoy Unfortunately I'm at work rn. A 12 hour shift, so my options are limited. You're right that I need to do something physical though

If I didn't take my meds like yesterday, I end up crying more. That and a hitter or two can settle my mood. I was crying because a favorite manager quit. This isn't the first one either since I had been there for so long. Welcome to message me. I understand the struggle of being a grown child mentally. I'm actually an adult with anxiety problems and meltdowns.

Start with the obvious: do you take meds and have you been taking them as prescribed? Have you eaten anything? How much water have you drank?

@Xhalite Fair enough. Same meds as always. Ate breakfast. I've had like a bottle and a half of water already. So, I don't think those are the culprit. I agree I should've thought about that though
