I have nerve damage in my toes and it is the most horrific pain most days... What are your ways to help alleviate the burning? I've tried almost everything I could think of. I take 3 supplements that are found in MetanX because I can't afford it and insurance doesn't cover it. I've done Epsom salts, heating pad, ice, ibuprofen, CBD and THC balm/cream, GoGreen pain relief....you get the idea. It all works but so temporarily that to get real relief I'd have to spend the entire day just rubbing something on them lol Trying to stay away from pain management but it's looking like that's soon to be my only option.

Cymbalta? I know you already tried gabapentin and lyrica and my doctor has suggested that one before. I took it years ago though and it was horrible for me, but a lot of people like it and say it's helpful for their pain.

Gabapentin orally and lidocaine cream topically
Voltaren is a very strong typical antinflamatory. I used it short term for injures but it didn't do anything for the nerve pain. Also, it's very hard on the renal system (like taking a lot of advil at once I think) and overuse can be dangerous. I'm so sorry you are having this. Neuropathy is evil. Have you tried tens units (small electricity current to numb the nerves? Gabapentin and THC/CBD my lifesavers. They don't make it go away, just makes the pain stop screaming at me.

Well, the doctor took me off of Lyrica now too....gave me a script for Diclofenac (Voltaren) and that is what I have to make due with. I'm at a loss.

@90sMomma I tried gabapentin but my doctor ended up switching me to Lyrica....I don't feel like it's doing its job....but maybe I just need a higher dosage. I was on amitriptyline for a while before the nerve damage but my insurance wouldn't cover it because I was already on multiple antidepressants/mood stabilizers. I just need a break...every day is just more and more pain...I'm tired of not being able to get up and walk with my kids and stuff....it's miserable
@AzabethSiege I have been on Lyrica and it did not work for me. My Dr switched me back to gabapentin bc I got more relief from it. But the gabapentin alone wasn't enough so he put me on amitriptyline which actually helped. But I'm having issues with my vision which is a side effect to the amitriptyline. So he switched me to wellbutrin but now I'm having more issues with my depression. It really is a battle to find the right combination of medications that will help with all the problems. I hope your Dr figures it out soon š¤
