what is your experience with ADHD? how did you get diagnosed? share please, I'm not diagnosed but I think I might have something of the sort. I believe I've had symptoms for the longest time, but they seem more prominent now. ive asked my therapist and psychiatrist but they really don't look into it. I did hear that it can be harder to diagnose when you're a female:/

I used to get anxious, going into bars, I'd get nervous and anxious going into the gym, I thought it was anxiety, but it was just undiagnosed adhd and some anxiety

I agree with itsnotmefr, I never got diagnosed as a kid, but I've been trying to complete my pre recs for nursing for the passed ten years and am having trouble, so I mentioned it to my doctors and was like we need to figure something out. You would think, being disruptive, and antsy as a child they would have figured it out, or that I constantly needed help with my work. I was always in and out of my seat but teachers never said anything to me mom, so she said she didn't think to check.

I was diagnosed when I was 12, but it was my mom who saw it in me. I didn’t even believe I actually had ADHD until over a decade later when I was taken off of my meds. My advice with going into an appointment is to write a list of your symptoms, and an example of when each symptom has presented itself in your life. Not just symptoms you believe to be ADHD related, but any mental or physical symptoms in general that you experience. It is harder to be diagnosed as a woman, but that is because it is presented differently in women than men most of the time: perfectionism, anxiety, and withdrawal/isolation from others are big symptoms of female ADHD to keep in mind

I got tested for it, you can have your pcp or psych have them set it up for you

@Boston23 oh okay, thank you. how could I bring it up, since they kinda don't tell me anything further than "it's not something to really look into"?
