Anyone else pick at or bite their lips or nails to the point of hurting themselves? how do I regulate this when medication won't?

I know there is some sort of vibrating bracket out there made for people with Trichotillomania. You could try investing in something like that. Or you could try nail polishes or chapsticks. Nail polishes can either taste bad or motivate you to not pick at your nails. Stick on nails may help with this because every time you go to pick you are met with hard plastic. Chapstick can be slippery and help remind you not to pick and make it super slick and difficult if you do. You could get a chapstick bottle and fill it with hot glue and add little beads at the top so you can use it as a stimulation instead of picking at your lips while it looks like your putting on chapstick. Or you could get fidget toys/fidget rings to help keeps your hands busy. I know there are also fidget keychains, brackets, and necklaces as well. There are also necklaces with silicon beads you can bite on.

There are nail polishes out there that taste bad, specifically made to deter nail biting. Also, you could try getting a nail design you really like and use that as motivation to avoid ruining the polish and picking/biting.

These are called Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors! They’re very common in people with ADHD, and can be exasperated by anxiety. I’ve found that stim toys can help when I feel the urge to pick, pull, or chew. In your case, I think chewlery (jewelry made to be chewed) could really help. Hope you find something that works for you soon!

I do this CONSTANTLY! I haven't found a great solution to this but I find that using some kind of fidget for my hands and using chapstick helps with my lips. Hope you can find something that works for you bc I know the struggle! ❤️
